Design & Engineering
Having watched all this from the sidelines for sometime now, and having done a lot of engineering design work for other aircraft companies along with contract production of aircraft and aircraft components for other companies, we decided that we had the "right stuff" to do this the way it should be done. Being that we are the largest mechanical/aeronautical/electronic CAD design and development engineering house in Slovakia (www.strojkovengineering.com), coupled with our owning a 150,000 square foot metal and electronics manufacturing facility,
and our experienced team of pilots as owners and top management in the company, the resources were in place to start from a clean sheet of paper. Further, as a financial sponsor and student sponsor we have a very close working relationship with the local Technical University, including all the faculties such as Materials, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Aeronautical, and Industrial Design. Marshaling all these resources is a simple organizational dynamic. As pilots frustrated by what we have seen in the market offerings, and having spent the last few years developing an advanced digital cockpit system suite (www.aveoengineering.com),
the logical step was to integrate our smart electronics, our aeronautical experience and knowledge into an aircraft platform that we envisioned as the world's first "smart plane".
So, we spent well over two years interviewing pilots and aircraft dealers and studying accident statistics. From this we developed a wish list of the most commonly desired features. We then spent a long long time working on the cockpit/cabin human factors engineering, and this included a full-scale cabin mockup at the Technical University's industrial design department. Once the ergonomic environment was achieved and blended to the DigitalFlightDeck™ avionics suite we had developed, we set off to build the airplane around this environment. Unlike many of our competitors, we started inside first. Once again, write us or visit us and we can tell you the facts about other manufacturers, including the famous names in the aviation industry, who ignored human factor engineering until after their plane was designed or built. Unbelievable, but true.
With the ability to put nearly 100 engineers to work on state-of-the-art advanced 3D workstations including FEA Analysis modeling, it meant that we could develop this virtual aircraft the same way that Boeing and Airbus do, not in the garage like our competitors or not piecing together airplanes buy purchasing parts from aircraft component subcontractors and not by copying other planes in the "me too" approach we see everywhere at air shows.
The result is pretty obvious to the eye when you see the AveoPhantom™ SmartPlane™ exterior. What you do not see is the thousands and thousands of man-hours of design engineering and analysis that went into the structure underneath the beauty of the sleek aircraft we present to you now.
Moreover, you do not see the focus on SAFETY that was engineered into every aspect of this aircraft, others my claim their airplanes are safe, but when you review all of what we have done, we are quite confident you will agree that this airplane is a generation ahead.
